Yes I know it may not be to everyone's taste - and in fact I wouldn't have thought it was mine, but I asked in a jeweler recently about a SS daytona and unsurprisingly they had no stock so they showed me a 116515LN with the ivory dial and ceramic bezel instead. I actually rather liked it and am now considering buying one. I've never sold any watches that I have bought before, so it's not previously been a consideration, but if I were to sell a rose gold Rolex am I going to be very disappointed when its retained value?

No expert but if you have a look at chrono 24 it would give you an idea and maybe deduct 20 % for trade price

Yes, if you pay full retail from an AD however 2nd hand they are an interesting proposition in the current market when you have steel ceramic daytonas going for £16k. If you pick up a rose gold version for 16.5k then you will be unlikely to lose much if anything at all.

Watchfinder had one in on a replacement rubber strap but looks to have gone now. I was seriously considering px my 116520 towards the steel ceramic but having tried one on I feel that the watch is slightly too small and should have increased to 42mm with the ceramic bezel on a bracelet but on leather it may work well. I'm interested to try one on as i have always liked the ivory dial option.

Rolex PM models can be negotiated on, so 20% is entirely doable, if not a bit more.

S/S Daytonas are 5-6 years waiting 'at list', but rose and white gold are often in the window - at a price.

Not convinced about RG on Rolexes - looks a bit 'brassy'. However can look much nicer with a black rubber or alligator strap.

Leather or rubber straps do indeed make them look nicer......shame Rolex keep going for the bling factor in everything they offer.
A rose gold Daytona etc in 'old Rolex' brushed finish would look lovely I think, as would one of these...

I still think they're lovely. It's a tough call between one of these and a WG Daytona on tan leather strap.

That's the best looking gold Rolex I have ever seen.

In my opinion they photograph better than they wear, somebody posted a similar picture a month or so ago and I thought it it would be my next watch but the rubber strap looked really cheap on.

Also looking at a Day Date in Rose, asking AD's I can't get close to 20% discount although that's the going rate for unworn on Chrono 24.
