Hi there... looking for some advice on my watch situation, preferably from some like-minded Omega fans.

I currently have a 2011 DeVille Hour Vision and 2014 Speedmaster Racing, both purchased new. I tend to wear the Speedy on a daily basis and the DeVille when dressing up, but I used to wear the DeVille daily until the Speedy turned up.

Last year, I decided (with no real reasoning) that a metal-bracelet watch is the only thing I'm missing from an "all bases covered" 3 watch line up, so started looking half-heartedly at 300Ms, blue face with a ceramic bezel in particular. Alas, I got distracted and nothing got bought.

Here I was minding my own business until Dom posted this seemingly good deal on his Instagram and awakened my completely unjustified need to buy a watch:

But.................................... now I'm not sure about the whole 3 watch thing.

Issues I'm finding with just 2 (will be worse with 3):
1) can only enjoy 1 at a time
2) in their most basic sense, they all carry out the same function
3) multiplied servicing and insurance costs
4) tend to wear one more than the other, and when I put the other on, I often end up having the wrong time for most of the day as didn't get a chance to re-set the time. This issue further reduces how often I rotate them.

Pros of having more than 1 watch:
1) it can be a talking point (although without both on you, in almost all cases risks becoming a non-topic / brag)
2) warm, fuzzy feeling seeing them all lined up on the bedside table... meh
3) my life and timekeeping won't collapse if one breaks down (really clutching at straws here)

I don't consider any of these £1-3k Omegas as investment pieces, so am now thinking that perhaps it would make more sense to sell my 2 and put the proceeds towards something of slightly higher value to wear all the time?

I'm not averse to the 1-watch idea, but equally I'm not sure there is an Omega at circa £5-6k that would feel special enough... seems you're stuck between the price point of the steel chronos and the normal precious metal examples, which I'm not keen on.

Interested to hear your thoughts.... buy a 3rd and run 3? sell both and buy 1? If so, what? Buy a watch winder to get more use out of 2+?

Pff.... (and thanks in advance)

Buy the Seamaster.

If 3 really is an issue, sell one at a later date.

As above - get the Seamaster bought!

It complements the other two very well and would make a great 3 watch combo.

I have exactly that watch (from Dom) and wear it day in day out - still looks amazing and I've no plans to get rid as yet.

Is it that good a deal? New grey market seamasters are around 2100.

Solved with a basic Watchwinder wink

How about vintage? For a single Omega at that price point which needs to feel special, I'd go with a 105.012 or 145.012 Speedmaster (the model actually used on the Apollo missions).

Of course the correct answer to "how many watches?" is always n+1!

Its an option, for sure... is the myth that they are bad for watches rubbish?

That's a really lovely watch, always liked moon watches, especially on that sort of strap. Alas, an old friend turned arch-enemy had one for decades so its an instant no-go as it would unfortunately remind me of him every time I check the time! Pity!

... Planet Ocean maybe? I have measly thin wrists though so I think a 300M still wins. Or venture over to the boring world of Subs maybe?

Personally if it was me, I would sell your 2 and put extra money together to buy a single more expensive one. By the way, I have a blue SMPc smile
