I looking for some advice, i got myself a speedmaster reduced 16 years ago & to be honest it was never a great time keeper from the off. It stopped some 5 years ago and I just put it away, forgetting about it. I recently found it & would like to get it working again so I can pas it on to my son. Can you advise on best course of action, use a remote service or any recommendation around the Edinburgh area.
Suggestions welcome.

I have Speedmaster Pro and always use Swiss Time Services www.swisstimeservices.co.uk for service and repairs. The last time they repaired my watch, it was sent back looking pretty much as it was when I first brought it. A great service. I send to them via post.

Send it to variomatic on here. Exceptional service and well priced. Don't just go with a local outfit because you're worried about the mail. There are well rated people out there.

+1 on Swiss Time Services. I've got a '67 speedy and they will be doing any repair work it needs while I own it. They will preserve originality if you want them to (won't polish the case, replace hands, dials etc).

Based in Edinburgh here; I ended up using Genesis Watchmaking by post to service my Omega.

Highly recommended, Duncan did a fantastic job and made the process simple.
