Note the difference in functionality of ios and android, wouldnt have to be mad to buy one at all as its a very nice watch but do make sure your comfortable with the terms and conditions of the mechanical watch upgrade.

That looks like they wash their hands of it after two years if you pay $1500 to get a mechanical watch in its place?Note the difference in functionality of ios and android, wouldnt have to be mad to buy one at all as its a very nice watch but do make sure your comfortable with the terms and conditions of the mechanical watch upgrade.

Yeah it does, I think a lot of the reason for that is to give buyers some confidence that in 2 years they can "get out" if suddenly the iOS on the iPhone 8 (or whatever) won't support the watch.I was really sceptical till I played with one at goodwood, and have to say I really liked it.
It does look like a good deal, as you have a smart watch for two years, then pay another £1200 and end up with a mechanical watch for life at a total cost of £2300 which is quite cheap for a mechanical Tag.
However, when i looked into buying one they would not confirm the price of the mechanical watch and even the paperwork stated a "likely cost" and they would not confirm what the watch would be apart from it would have a calibre 5 movement. There are pictures of what the watch will look like in the Tag literature, but there is also a statement in the contract that states you hand your smart watch in to a dealer and they put the mechanical movement into your two year old case, ao not a new watch.
Tag suggested to me verbally that the reason that it is all up in the air to give them a third option of updating the smart watch with new smart watch hardware but would not put this i writing to me.
If you are happy with the terms, thats fine and it is a lovely watch but please make sure that you read the contract, understand what it is you are agreeing to, and that you are happy with the terms.
