James Hunt Limited Edition watch
Discussion
Hi guys,
I noticed that a new James Hunt limited edition watch has been released from Tag Heuer. Has anyone seen it yet? I am only going off the pictures but I'm not so sure they got it right considering the anniversary. It just looks a bit rushed, and not sure of the connection. I have also seen the Hesketh watch by Omologato which seems to have got the idea right. Does anyone know much about the brand?
Let me know what you think, I was considering a new watch this year just not sure which!

And you just happen to have PR photos to upload to the forum ?
PR photos representing what brand? Coz two brands are mentioned, which one do you think he's pushing? As for the "PR photos" - both images posted are freely available on Google images.
Don't give up your day job just yet, Sherlock.
Omologato are just a cheap quartz watch brand trying to find a niche market. Movements are cheap Miyota (Citizen) quartz ones in a pretty case with a fancy dial. Nothing at all special.
If you want a watch with Motorsport connections try Chopard.
You'll need to increase your budget a bit but they are truly a quality watch brand associated with motorsport.

Note the details - steering wheel embossed on the crown, pushers that are meant to resemble wheel hubs.
The company are a main sponsor of the Mille Miglia and are also involved with the Monaco GP and the Ennstal Classic rally.
If you want something that really does say Motorsport then get a 'drivers' watch (often share features with aviation watches).

Or my own personal one:

The offset face is to align the 12 with the 6 when your hand is on the wheel.

Thanks for all the information! I am very fortunate in that I own a Rolex (Milgauss as I work in Science) and was not really looking to spend the money of a Chopard. I have actually been to try on that drivers watch by Vacheron, but may need to be saving for the rest of my life If you want a watch with Motorsport connections try Chopard.

funnily enough, I actually noticed a similar "drivers" watch on the omologato website! Of all the places... Love the concept. lostkiwi said:

funnily enough, I actually noticed a similar "drivers" watch on the omologato website! Of all the places... Love the concept. The Tag watch has the colours from Hunt's helmet on it which was overall black with the coloured stripes you see on the side of it.
The other watch has the design for the Hesketh bear on its face, which was the teams mascot.
Tag Heuer of course have had a long association with McLaren hence why they would have an interest in selling such a watch.
