I know it's a bit an obvious suggestion... Is Cartier her thing?

I got my mum one of these http://www.parkhousethejeweller.com/ballon-bleu-de... for her 65th last year, she loves it. Well near as dam it, hers has a salmon coloured dial!

Chopard also do some really nice ladies watches.

I was going to suggest Cartier. My sister in law is not into watches at all but her husband bought her a Cartier for about 5k. Ticks all the boxes some women look for in a watch. Expensive and a good name.

There's no alternative to rolex

Buy her a rolex, she'll love it and be smug that everybody knows she's got a rolex. Don't waste your cash on anything else. My wife has got one, best choice ever

If your wife likes the current Cartier range have a chat with Dominic Hackett. Top man and can provide brand new watches at good discounts thumbup

Is she going to say "Oh thank you darling for buying me that IWC"? is she fk....

Buy her a rolex and she'll drop and start smoking your sausage like there's no tomorrow FACT
Are you going to be here long, or just until the schools go back?

haha this is unfortunately quite true unless your lady is a watch geek. If it was me I'd buy her a rolex

laugh

Since I am an owner of a Rolex I feel quite at liberty to point out to this numptie the well known fact that Rolex is NOT the best watch in the world, by a very long way! Stop being a knob fella and take the blinkers off. Have you finished your Easter prep yet?

How about a nice JLC Reverso ? Ok, I know you said you wanted an Automatic (which initially put me off the manual Reverso) but with ownership I've become accustomed to winding first thing in the morning as part of my routine smile

Alternatively there is the JLC Rendez-vous or Master Ultra Thin which has the automatic movement - can you tell I like the brand biggrin

Weird that as my wife has 2 IWC's and a Blancpain, the IWC Ingenuer is by far her favourite every day watch and she would not look twice at any Rolex.

TBH thats one clear reason that even If I had a trillion pounds I wouldn't buy a Rolex.

My wife alternates between a Cartier santos in steel and gold and a Chopard Happy Diamonds on a leather strap.
She traded a Rolex for the Cartier. Her friends love both of them as jewellery.
An alternative just about in range a Patek twenty-4. Good luck.

I have to say it's a good question. My wife has a st/stl Tank francaise and I want to treat her to another watch a little more special and automatic, not much choice out there, and although I have looked hard we keep coming back to Rolex. Specifically the date just 31.

Open to suggestions of alternatives.
