Is there a proper name for the little bit on a leather watch strap that the end tucks through after the buckle?

Looking at new Breitling straps on Ebay they don't have that bit or any holes for buckle pin to go through or where the buckle fits to the strap?

As far as I know the leather loops are called "keepers" or a "keeper"

Make sure that you aren't looking at straps that are specifically to be used with deployant clasps ONLY, sounds like that's what you have seen!

Thankyou, now I know what a deployment clasp is! Always associated those with bracelets rather than leather straps.

My Breitling Chronomat is on a deployant strap with folding clasp. I've owned the watch for 18 months now and the strap still looks brand new as there isn't the stress placed on the leather when putting on/ taking off as with a traditional strap.

Obviously this won't be the same for everyone but I found the Breitling deployant clasp unbelievably uncomfortable with the hinged end leaving a mark on the inside of my wrist!

Breitling's push button clasps on the other hand are fantastically comfortable in my experience!
