I actually quite like some of these. Probably wouldn't have it done myself and certainly not to an expensive watch, but I wouldn't mind owning something similar.

Its similar to some of the works sold by Magrette in tehir limited editions:

http://www.magrette.com/the-timepieces-tamanuitera...

I've always had a hankering for one of the Magrettes I must admit.

Pretty horrible, but on the right watch I can imagine it would look very good indeed.

What do WE think? You make sure you follow the herd OP, make sure that watch box doesn't contain anything that strangers on the internet might not like.

Would Rolex try to polish that out if it went in for a service?!

Why are the round dots at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock every so slightly off centre?
That would bug me.

Poor attention to detail by the assembling watchmaker. The bezel is a steel ring with no centering (since it's originally polished), so it's entirely down to hand/eye and patience how you line them up.

Hideous.

Makes an expensive and beautifully made watch look cheap, tacky, and offensive all at the same time.

Almost certainly unless you gave very clear instructions to leave it laugh

Aside from the lack of assembly attention - nicely executed work using traditional skills that are intimately associated with watchmaking from its very beginnings.

So, not to my personal taste but certainly don't find it offensive in any way. After all, it is only a Rolex - not exactly a unique piece in standard form and easy enough to get re-cased to original if you wanted.

Well cheap and tacky, that is your opinion and you're entitled to it. Offence though? That actually offends you? Black people being murdered by the lorry load in the USA, Syrians drowning by the millions in the Mediterranean, the Scottish and Irish being decimated with heart disease and you're telling me you're actually offended by a watch?

I can be offended by watches. The use of Arnolds name, for instance, on Swiss watches that have no link to the guy is the lowest of low marketing practice and a real shame as the watches themselves are not without merit. What happened to Earnshaw is even worse.

Thought that I'd hate it, but it's quite nice. But as it doesn't match my rapier, I wouldn't wear it.
