That'd be a novel proposal! Down on one knee. A large box, a puzzled girlfriend.

She opens it, and there's the ring, glinting fabulously against the dried blood on Eddie's severed hand. He smiles, revealing a small piece of Eddie's flesh stuck between his teeth. Fiancé and fiancée reach for some butter to coax the ring from Eddie's lifeless finger...

Definitely a story for the grandkids.
