Good price for a Cartier Tank?

PH watch fans,

I've been offered a used Cartier Tank Solo by my local jeweller in Manhattan, which I'm considering for my wife. Its a large-size Quartz model, with box but no papers. List price is apparently $2780, and the used price is $2100.

I'm going to get it engraved, so resale value isn't my primary concern, but I do want to make sure I"m paying a fair price. The used price seems a little high - i had been planning on spending around $1800-$1900, but condition is most important to me.

Any opinions?

That does seem a bit high. If buying new, you should be able to negotiate somewhere around 20% off list. Take a look on Chrono24 to see what dealers are asking for one on this side of the pond.
