Bell & Ross BR-X1

I love Bell & Ross. I love their attention to detail. I had a BR02-94 and it was simply stunning, to the point where I hardly ever wore it, in fear of marking the case. So it comes as no surprise that I follow the brand on FaceBook! B&R have just released this neat little video of their latest creation, the BR-X1. You can see it here:

However I must admit, I'm not entirely keen on the piece. It's a bit 'cheap' looking - The chronograph minutes wheel at 9 o'clock doesn't exactly help it's cause. I was more offended at the fact that movement is a reworked ETA 2894-2, similar to the movement in my BR02-94, which isn't a problems ... It's more the case that this watch retails for c.£13-20K depending on which case material you decide upon!
That seems a little expensive? Even Hublot can produce a skeleton watch with the UNICO in-house movement for less. The BR-X1 may use some fairly special materials, but I'm pretty sure there are other manufacturers who offer similar materials and an in-house movement, for a lot less. I mean, it's pretty much second hand AP ROO Bumblebee money!
Anyway, a little vent. It just came across as all a bit odd to me!
