Bought an Omega Speedmaster through Chrono24 (Germany) and my pal bought a Steinhart (Poland).
As mentioned above, do your own due diligence on the seller and you will be fine.
Worth noting though that many of the international sellers won't accept credit card payments, only a bank transfer. For that reason I take comfort in the 'trusted checkout' feature.

I bought through Chrono24 successfully and I am now in the process of selling
I can't complain about the number of enquiries. The ones from Czech and Poland which just say "I will buy your watch" I am ignoring, rightly or wrongly.
One from France seemed OK, but he's gone quiet after I costed the shipping to France (£37 insured).
Early days, it's only been on a week.

In my case, it was a well regarded bricks and mortar dealer - twice
It doesn't even provide the levels of protection eBay does, though, does it?In my case, it was a well regarded bricks and mortar dealer - twice
It's more of a Gumtree for retailers, although they have introduced their protected service recently, but I don't think it applies to all transactions and 'Trusted Seller' doesn't (as far as I can tell) guarantee anything.
That said, most people selling on their are proper jewellers with shops (not 100% though), even if the best deals seems to be in Italy and Germany.
Caveat Emptor and all that.

My advice is to leave well alone unless you are willing to travel to pick up the watch and complete a cash transaction. You have zero protection with that website, and that's all it is.
That is not strictly true. Direct linky to the older thread (since it's no longer the very first subject that appears when you search.)I think 'leave well alone' is an unfair view. Its like saying 'dont buy from ebay' ... 'dont buy from an unauthorised trader' etc. Every method has its horror stories but like everything, spend your well earned money wisely.
Do your homework on the seller, google them, read reviews, call them, email them and make sure they have the watch and its a genuine sale. I had a positive experience from a Chrono 24 seller ... I read feedback on them on here and TZ when I googled them, so I emailed and spoke with them. I made the decision to pay via credit card and have the watch DHL'd to me for 80 euro (insured) ... and that made me feel comfortable enough to go through with the purchase. Flights to Europe are cheap enough and I did consider travelling to collect ... if you have any doubt then this has to be the best method.

^^ Likewise.
I picked a dealer using the trusted checkout, made sure he was using insured delivery. I checked that he had a bricks and mortar shop, with a good reputation. I found the shop's website, the phone number matched the chrono24 advert. I called them and spoke to them.
The deal went very smoothly & I received a very nice Day & Night Duo at a very good price.
Chrono24 is just a website that carries adverts from individuals. They do offer protection in the form of the Trusted Checkout. But that's about it.
