Should I be bothered?
Discussion
My wife bought me a watch for my birthday last week, a Seiko Sportura SNAE95P1. I really like it and it is a nice addition to my collection. However she bought it from a local jeweler for probably list price, which is bothering me, because it is a discontinued watch. I need to pop into the jewelers get a few links taken out of the bracelet. Should I say something about selling old stock, or should I just look happy? I do prefer it to the current Sportura models, but just a bit miffed about paying over the odds.

Just appreciate the gift for what it is, a gift from your wife.If you start questioning the price, or whether it was a good deal, you'll come across as ungrateful for your wife's efforts in getting you the present in the first place

By all means be bothered - nobody likes paying over the odds - but maybe keep it to yourself and enjoy the watch which your wife chose.
As for the jeweller, well, they have a living to make - nobody says they have to discount discontinued items if they think they can get rid of them at a good price.
