For those who may not have seen, the perennial crowd-favourite Tudor Black Bay now comes in.....Black

Is it the Tudor Black Bay Black or the Black Black Bay or just the Black Bay - who knows.

Now, I know he is a nob but John Mayer has been wearing one:

I think it looks great. I've always really liked the Black Bay.

That is looking mighty fine - I have always preferred the blue to the red, but that just looks great, especially on the Nato strap. This wasn't on my which watch next list, but ...

I know it's considered sacrilege in this corner of the forum but I've never really thought spending large amounts on a watch to be a decent use of my cash.

This, however, has really caught my eye.

I'm heading through Schiphol in a few weeks, might have to have a nose at the Rolex stand...

Probably the strangest thread ever.

Only 2 hours ago I was sat on the train, checked the time and thought how good it would be to get a black bezel put on mine.

So next question, where can I get a bezel and who can change it for me?

I haven't actually looked but I've heard the differences run beyond the Bezel. I'd be surprised if they weren't interchangeable and I would be even less surprised if swapping the bezels doesn't become very popular.

I really want one of these now.....

Swiss Watch Trader, if you're reading this, when can you get your hands on one?

I guess you could try an AD but I doubt they'd help.

Failing that, a decent watchmaker (there's a few on here) could probably do it.

As far as getting your hands on the parts, that may be the tricky bit....

That is stunning. I'm considering swapping my Planet Ocean for a GMT II BLNR, but it might have to be one of those.

I'd suggest Tudor's making better looking watches than Rolex nowadays.

It's a great looking watch, but a shame they haven't put their in-house movement in it.

I went shopping for a sub non date cerachrom on Saturday and was going to part ex my Planet Ocean in the process. I came away from town still owning the Planet Ocean having purchased the Heritage black bay and black bay blue to add two more to my collection. Just couldn't resist as they are stunning watches. The sub can wait until another day.

The more I see of Tudor the more I like them. Always been a bit of an Omega fan but the Heritage Chrono is a real beauty, although the Black Bay and Pelagos are right there as well.

Plus the prices are really competitive compared to Omega.

It may take styling clues ( very heavily) from an old Sub but it's still not a Rolex and will always be a wannabe watch.

Are you aware of the history of Tudor and Rolex?

Never understood the Rolex fascination, but I guess it's like Marmite.

Anyway back on topic. Taaffy, that's just greedy but don't blame you.

As much as I have yearned for a sub over the years I can never seem to commit to buying one.
I had a Daytona that I bought when looking for a sub but have since sold it.
The sub is an iconic watch but I like other dive watches more than it and every time I go to buy one I seem to buy something else.
The Planet Ocean imho is a much better looking dive watch as is my Seiko SKX007 and now I've added the two Tudor's.

Maybe the sub and I are not destined to be partners.

My first decent watch was a non date sub.

I've got a few more since then including both Black and White Daytona, BLNR GMT , and a few Panerais , the one I keep wearing the most is the sub.

It's fine for work , it's fine under a suit or casual wear , but I think mostly it's now understated compared with most current offerings.

I've been looking for a "wedding watch", and I think this is it. I've been eyeing up the Heritage models for a while in blue, but that black and aged gold look is just fantastic. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY (Once i've saved for it).
