Can anyone recommend where I can get an old Rolex serviced? It's from the 1960's and has probably never been serviced.
It needs to be someone trustworthy..

Genesis is highly recommended around the watch forums. I did a search a few months back and then had Genesis, owned by a chap called Duncan, service my poorly running Zenith El Primero. Very responsive, updates/pictures via email and back in a fortnight running well.

If in town then RSC in Victoria makes more sense.

shopper150 - it may help if you tell us where you're located within the UK. Recommending London service centres is probably not much help if you're in Inverness or Belfast, for instance.

If you ring Watchfinder they'll give you options.
You can send it as a secure package.
They'll give you details how.

I waited 4 weeks and received mine back a week ago. RSC West Malling, Kent. Duncan is a good bet, he only calls the watch forward when he's ready to work on it.

No. They'll turn it round in about 4 weeks and then you'll need to return it at least twice before it comes back right.

Pity, isn't it? Really detracts from the brand experience.

Frankly, I think they could get away with charging £100 more but making it a perfectexperience. What I'm thinking of is courier pick-up and drop-off, a replacement watch whilst yours is being serviced, and a two-week turnaround as standard. All based, obviously, on 100% right-first-time servicing.

Such a service would be (even) more expensive than it currently is compared to an indy, but would be clearly differentiated in terms of customer experience and would add a bit more a luxury feel.

Never had an issue with Rolex service. always returned quicker that quoted, no hidden extra charges, watch returned running better than before and looking like new.
I suppose with the number out there that need a little TLC the odd one will slip through below standard.

So far they have messed up on 100% of mine. That's two watches, one went back 5 times, the other two.

That really is the exception rather than the rule. A shame that you've been unlucky twice. I've used RSC for the last 25 years or so, it's generally the standard to which others are measured.

My experience is closer to Rowley's than to yours, I'm afraid. I prefer not to use RSC now.
