Looking to get myself a nice watch. I was after an Omega planet ocean. But the Jeweller has discount on a number of Bell and Ross watches. Are they a good investment or should I stay clear?

Nice watches I think - but hardly an investment.

No watch is a good investment; If you're worried about depreciation, then you either need to go for a sports Rolex of some kind or buy second hand smile In regards to Bell & Ross, the latter is certainly preferable, but it depends on what sort of discount your AD is offering ...

As for Bell & Ross as a brand, I love their designs. I have a BR02-94 and one of the things that stands out for me is the unique design; a tonneau case diver with circular dial. B&R are also fantastic at paying close attention to detail.

I would write a bit more, but friends have just arrived hehe Go try one on ... I doubt you'll be disappointed! Here's mine:

I don't 'get' B&R. Never seen the appeal with them and can't work out why they are so expensive.

B&R are a marketing exercise, not a watchmaker.

It was the one on the left I liked. Are these good prices?

BR 03-94 Phantom chronograph
T'was a toss up between that and a Tag Monaco.
Still really like the Tag but wouldnt change by choice at all.

It's rather large and I have skinny wrists so probably best to try and see how you get on.

The BR02-92 Carbon at £1695? That's a really good price! To be honest, that's pretty much what I'd expect it to sell for second hand after a year or so of ownership. RRP is £2600 smile

The B&R watch on the very right has quartz movement. Is that correct? I like the carbon one best but I'd rather buy the Omega at that price mark?

Yep, the BR03 Type Aviation has a quartz movement ... It has 2 small LCD read-outs for various functions, much like the Breitling Emergency/Airwolf smile

How much is the Omega? If I had to choose (and I have a BR02 and a PO), I'd go for the Omega if it was my first luxury watch. However if you already have a couple of watches, and especially if you already have an Omega, I'd go for the B&R. The B&R is a bit different and a lot less common ... Also that BR02-92 on the right has Diamond Like Carbon coating, which is nice smile

I don't have a decent watch at the mo. The Omega PO 8500 the best price he could do it for would be to match the duty free price at £4250..This is the one I was after originally.

I'd give Dom H at www.hackettwatches.com a quick call ... He might be able to better that price. Dom H is a PHer on here and he has bought and sold watches to many of us. A top chap and highly recommended! He is usually able to obtain large discount on Omega pieces, as well as other manufacturers too smile

I did contemplate a BR01-92 a while back and Dominic offered me a discount of around 22% on High St prices iirc.

Not an expert on watch's but most B&R to me just look like a plastic watch you could get of the market for £5.99...
