I really shouldn't look in this thread as it'll require another post in the "Frivolous purchases" thread too! I don't need another watch.....![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)
NOW I'm looking at the GW-300M-4AER!

I was swaying between that one and the 4000 but chose the latter because I already have a mk1 orange monster and a men in rescue orange gulfman in my collection, so I thought there was too much orange going on!![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)
NOW I'm looking at the GW-300M-4AER!

Anybody heard anything from Nigel O'Hara about their recent purchases?
My GW4000 had to be ordered from Casio, so once it arrives at Nigel O'Hara's place, it'll get shipped out. Basically they're having to play by Casio's lead times. If you're concerned, raise a support ticket - their communication is very good
I placed my order on 27/06, and as I hadn't received a dispatch note, I raised a ticket on 30/06.
Their response on 30/06 -
Thank you for your email. As you are aware, this item has been ordered from the manufacturer specifically for you. This is stated on the product page beside the 'available to order' icon. We will contact you via email as soon as we have secured a delivery lead time for you and will continue to work to ensure that this item reaches you as quickly as possible. When we dispatch your order, you will be emailed with a unique Royal Mail tracking ID and a link to the Track and Trace facility. Your patience is appreciated.
Got a bit impatient, and raised another ticket on 07/07.
Their response - on 07/07
Thank you for your e-mail, We assure you that we will have this item with you as quickly as possible. The order has been successfully placed with the manufacturer, and we will have it with you as quickly as they are able to supply it. As we are working by their time-frames, we are in that transitional period that we have no control over. We try to be as honest as possible with our customers by making this clear at the point of purchase, which is why no time-frame is provided. We would also like to assure you that we run an efficient service, and expect there to be a swift turnaround from this point. You will be updated by e-mail upon your items arrival with us. Kind regards.
After responding to Ian's post above, I did some digging and it turns out this is very much a common theme with Nigel O'Hara.
Sorry gents, it was me that put up the link to the sale in the first place (albeit, no affiliation with N'OH)

To be fair to N O'H, communication has been good, it's not as if they're completely ignoring me.
At this point, I'm not *too* concerned, I think I'll eventually get the watch.
Update: Just had an email saying it's been posted![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Thinking about treating myself to a King this month, but the high street places don't seem to have stock. Have they been discontinued? Would like to try one before purchase really to see how big they wear.
Very apt username! The king is HUGE, it utterly dwarfs any other G.

Ordered a 3000M-4AER from Nigel-O-Hara on 29th June. Still nothing has been dispatched, customer services have been good at replying when asked questions but otherwise provide no updates. Still awaiting the shipment from Casio 'apparently'. Very disappointed, considering just getting my money refunded.
same here. I ordered on the 27th. I'm just praying they don't go under as I didn't pay on credit card!Disappointing Irish Retailer said:
Thank you for your e-mail. We apologise for any inconvenience experienced regarding your order. We can confirm that your ordered item is still having ongoing delays from the manufacturer and now suggest that you choose an alternative item that we may be able to send out to you today. Your ordered item should be arriving very soon however if these time scales are not suitable you can cancel your order for a full refund if needed. Kind Regards, Nathan
Not interested in a different replacement really, surprisingly Id just like the one I ordered. Chances of actually getting it seem pretty slim now (although the fact Ian received his does mean that they are apparently capable of fulfilling the order). Unfortunately based on the reviews (that in hindsight I wished Id read before ordering) the refund timescales can be just as lengthy.Tbh, I don't think they're bad per-se, but I do suspect they've got fairly serious supply-chain issues with certain items, and as such, they shouldn't really be taking order for those issue items.
As I said before, I received my watch, plus a 50 quid gift voucher but yes, I agree, it's a s
t business model, and they've got some serious supply chain issues going on.
Personally, I doubt very much I'd use them again, regardless of how good the deal is ( and my deal WAS good - 300 quid watch for 150 quid)

hmmm that's the problem - I feel suspicious cos like scammers, they have reeled us in with an unbelievably cheap price, then keep us waiting and waiting ever hopeful. If this was any kind of second-hand deal off a website (eg gumtree) or even from any other website being sold as new, we'd think we'd been scammed 100%. The only reason we don't, and hang in with a bit of hope, is because some people have actually bought from them and received goods!
If I keep waiting it goes against all my principles & brain power really - it's just the desire to get a good deal that keeps me hanging in which is foolish probably. How long do we wait? - Until mid september, or the end of september? I don't know.
I can tell you this though, whatever I end up doing, and whatever way it shakes out (whether I ever receive the watch or not, or lose my money) I will never ever use them again as I don't need this kind of rubbish in my life, so in future I simply won't look at them, and won't see what amazing 'deals' I have missed. It's a bad business model IMO.
Request for refund made. Seemingly the watch I purchased is no longer obtainable - I found this out by contacting Casio directly. We shall see how long it takes Figel Hofara to acknowledge this and refund my account. If I keep waiting it goes against all my principles & brain power really - it's just the desire to get a good deal that keeps me hanging in which is foolish probably. No communication, no customer care. Avoid, avoid, avoid

Well today after 2 & 1/2 months and 12 communications (I remained courteous throughout) with nigelohara ( all instigated by me) since ordering my watch, today I finally got a refund
