I think the Mido Ocean star is the best value ‘flyer’ GMT.
It's a nice looking watch but looks like a diver to me not a flyer!!

Interesting info on the GMTs, didn't know there was a difference, but then again I've never looked into it as they have no real use or appeal.
On another note, I have just finished my latest build, one to set the Rolex boys into melt down. It's basically a Rolex/Tudor (homage) parts bin specialbiggrin

Not sure on the bezel as the blue is a slightly different shade, only other option is a stainless one or Yachtmaster style.
I like that. A lot. Nice work.
Agreed, looks bloody good to me!!

My Roue CHR that turned up a few weeks ago had a strap that was too small for my 8 1/2 inch wrists.
New custom strap turned up today. Thick black leather, perforated racing style, with yellow stitching. Very happy with it. £48 + postage from Belarus. Shipped by seller very quickly as made to a custom size, but delivery took most of 3 weeks.

CHR was $250
Strap was another £48, but far nicer than the straps that came with the watch.

Bloody hell, someone with bigger wrists than me!!! bow

It was the 48 quid for a strap that staggered me.
I have a strap (hopefully) on the way that cost me about £33 that will be going onto my Orient Kano that cost me £150, what is the forums view on an acceptable watch/strap cost ratio?

I love a bargain but sometimes paying a little bit more on a strap or bracelet seems worthwhile, especially if decent quality.

I do baulk a bit paying full price for stuff from the likes of Watchgecko as they quite often have stuff on sale.
No issues with extraneous expenditure on straps, it's the original purchase of the watch which is subject to the approximately £200 price tag!!

Today’s offering is a Spinnaker

Ooh, I really like that. A bit of Damasko in that design.

Anyway a bit of drunk bidding on eBay has netted this Orient Bambino for £60. Oops. Better photos to follow when it arrives. A mate here in Cardiff has one and it looks a million dollars.

OK Mr "Oh I don't need anything but my Glycine and a couple of others I can't let go of"!!! rofl
You know full well that once you've had a selection to choose from only having a couple is not enough!!

I like the look of the blue dial one, what's people experiences of kickstarter projects like this?

I rather like that.
So do I, unfortunately at 38mm it's way too small for my manly gorilla wrists!!!

I collected the bronze steeldive this weekend.

I wasn't expecting the orange hands, and an orange rubber strap was included. The orange and bronze combo is a slightly problematic one I think, but it's a nice watch. Feels chunky and well-made, and is keeping good time.

Overall the impression is very positive.

Strange, mine has a black rubber strap and a lovely suede brown leather strap,it is chunky but I absolutely love the colour combination!!!

Has yours got orange hands and digits? I rather like it, but I'm not sure it would be for everyone.
It does indeed, identical to yours apart from the leather strap!!

Well I've just bought something that I think will scratch my itch for a titanium watch.

Specs look great with Sapphire crystal, titanium case, carbon fibre dial and 200m WR

Now the leather strap isn't my style and I'm planning to swap it onto a canvas one but I will fully admit it seems like a work of art!

Cost me a third of thread budget.
That is a lovely looking thing with a great spec!!! clap

There might not be much appetite, but anyone of a venal disposition might wish to consider that watches priced in roubles make something of a bargain right now.

The komandirskie crowd's fare is looking excellent VFM if you can live with your conscience. I had an e-mail stating that they ship by DHL so you might even get to see your buy.
I'd rather hack my testicles off with a wooden spoon than give that country a fking penny!!!

Do you have Gas central heating? tongue out
Sadly yes, but I justify it by telling myself I'm paying British Gas for it!!! rofl
