There might not be much appetite, but anyone of a venal disposition might wish to consider that watches priced in roubles make something of a bargain right now.

The komandirskie crowd's fare is looking excellent VFM if you can live with your conscience. I had an e-mail stating that they ship by DHL so you might even get to see your buy.
I'd rather hack my testicles off with a wooden spoon than give that country a fking penny!!!

Same here.

Strange post CdG, though I'm sure that you were only musing having received an email offer.

I’m not sure I could even wear my Amphibia at the moment. I don’t know if that’s irrational.

I’ve also switched my beloved Stolichnaya to Kettle One… again, I don’t know if there’s any rationality to this but the alternative just feels wrong at the moment

Eccles, cheers - that's looks to be a very good shout. The auto Tapferkeits look very appealing. Does yours have the open back? And is the standard strap satisfactory?
Yes, mine has the open back and the strap is a padded, fairly decent quality black leather one. It generally feels a good quality watch.
Well, now we're in March I can pull the trigger. White faced auto Tapferkeit incoming!

I consulted my expert advisor (Mr Jim Beam) before purchase...

Yes, looks good. Eccles' rep is on the line with this one, mind you!

This is what I really want (decided it's nicer than the Max Bill model) but at around £2k I can't justify it... Not this year, anyway..

My wrists are only about 6.75" and I wear, ahem, 44mm 'Panerai Luminor-like' wink watches pretty regularly - feels a good size to me smile

Some watches 'wear big' and some 'wear small', so don't be too rigidly guided by case size measurement smile
Yea the 46mm case actually didnt look too bad, its the lug to lug thats my problem, especially on bracelet watches.

Approximately 4% of UK gas comes from Russia.
My Amfibia 'Scuba Dude' is my favourite watch and hasn't been of my wrist since I bought it.
Until now, its now in my drawer of much st where it will end its days.

That’s how I feel… I’m not sure a watch should be held accountable but it just does not feel right to wear it at the moment

I don't think you'll be disappointed. It wears quite big and has a nice weight and a quality feel to it. With hindsight I wish I had gone for the white face instead of the cream.
When I was looking for a Bauhaus/Max Bill type of watch these ones seemed to offer the same as everyone else but at a more affordable price.

All right chaps, keep your pants on! I did think that my reference to venality might have given the context to my remark. I'm in the security and defence space myself, so am hardly likely to support one of our principal adversaries at times like this.

Rotary do a pretty decent 'homage'.
