Yes, I’m aware of Barchettaman’s penchant for playing ‘dress up’ as part of his profession.

Only on PH; Smart enough for a suit, casual enough for Lederhosen and sandals.

What makes this place so special.

Nice to see him almost relaxed, every shot he posts of him on or back stage he is obviously "in work" mode and as a thespian has to project. I couldn't do his work even if I had the "talent". It is amazing that people have the talent and can do the "performance" and still be private in themselves, it blows my mind.

Anyhows onto watches, I started this old thread https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

After nearly 18 months searching, yesterday I tried on a watch that just "fits for me".

Unfortunately it is roughly 2.5 times the price of all the 6 watches I own cost me, and 10 times the thread budget.

It was lovely and fitted my tiny wrist just so, Bobbers and Barchettman would have laughed at it it on their proportioned wrists. At 36mm it is good to go for me. Isn't wonderful that we are all different.

When I told my wife about it and she knew about my hunt for a green watch over a long time, she said why didn't you buy it.

Well I like cheap watches that are great and I worry about spending money even though I can within certain ways.

So when I am 60 in a number of months time I will be wearing a small green watch, I wouldn't post pictures of it in this thread for the obvious reasons. I hope you all will be pleased for me, as this thread and Bobbers are the best place on PH.

Enjoy your watches and what you do with them!

Oh so sorry the watch - https://www.tagheuer.com/gb/en/timepieces/collecti...

Summit7, that is an absolutely stunning watch!!!
Please feel free to at least post a pic on your wrist once bought, I for one would love to see it, and be able to wish you a happy 60th.

I’d say post it, too. If you’ve waited 18 months, my man maths says you can post anything up to the value of 18 x 200! beer

Very nice. Not a huge fan of the more common Tags, but that suits my preferences completely.

The softer greens are very popular at the moment, and rightly so. Longines use it on their new Conquest, and if I hadn't just spent some spare cash on a car I'd have bought either this or the Tag.

There was a reason why I said I wouldn't post a piccie, see you are all watch nerds and can't help but talk about more expensive watches when they are posted.

Well to get this back on track, I woke up this morning and my Dan Henry had stopped working at 4am, that was the time the hands were showing. Luckily it's a quartz and a new battery will go in tomorrow and job should be jobbed.

Summit 7. Stunning watch and I'm also extremely tempted. I showed it to SWMBO and suggested it might match my eyes however she countered that 'it's not black & blue'. It appears she may think I already have too many watches... whistle

I posted up on the TAG thread recently. I do love a clean look. Just like this one.

Enjoy and HBS7 when it comes thumbup

Summit7, that’s an absolute beauty. Congratulations in advance on the upcoming birthday.

Oh, and thanks lads for the kind words about my regular spamming of the thread with operatic nonsense. I’ll be back in Austria from tomorrow so will post some photos of the theatres, hopefully of the technical side of things rather than mountains/lakes/watches and beer this time.

Don’t lump me in with Bobbers and his Sasquatch-like arms. Mine are perfectly proportioned and I am no stranger to a smaller watch. In fact it’s Pagani time: I think this is 37mm, and it’s an utter delight to wear.

I was saving it for my next visit to the Amalfi coast but I don’t think that gig is happening this summer:

Ooopppsss, I just bought another watch.............to be fair Mrs Bobbers did tell me to buy it!!!

AVI-8 Spitfire Woolston Ltd edition, with discount code £239.25, I have a bit of a personal connection to this as Woolston was the main design and assembly plant for the Spitfire, my Grandfather was ground crew repairing them and I lived in Woolston for a period of my life.
