I've been tempted by the deals on Aliexpress again.

Pagani Rollie GMT Pepsi homage for sub £50. I've been after one of these for a while.

As Redrabbit has said that will the the Chinese Pearl DG movement which isn’t the best, I have a Batman GMT with that movement which I’ve had for around 3 yrs now. Whilst it does work ok, it’s a very problematic movement and prone to dying. I also have the Pepsi GMT with the NH34 and it is definitely worth spending a little extra for, the movement is great and reliable with 0 issues and you also get a nice lumed bezel also. All in all the NH is the one to buy.

Lume shot of my Dan Henry whilst in the stables this morning, I give the staff a rest day on Sundays so have to muck out myself - oh the terror of a first world problem. As Blib would say, haynet for scale.

I'm tempted by the Root Beer with the NH34, it's as cheap as it's ever been.

Lifted from the other thread, and ordered. Obviously I won't be taking it off the nice strap it comes with and putting it on a mesh!

I'm working my way through my dozens of cheapies at the moment, swopping every few days.

I really like that.
The bracelet and the dial and both spot on!
Merkur Rose Red. There are other colours too.

Usually fast delivery from AliExpress. 8 days from order to Scotland. Good packaging. Nice watch. No love of the mesh strap may change to black leather.
£64

Mesh strap so so. Clasp didn't feel secure. Into a spare strap from my watch toolbox meantime.

After a day running 7 seconds slow. Acceptable as I rarely wear a watch more than a few days in a row.

That looks a nice watch, leather strap will be a big improvement.

Well the prx arrived whilst I was on holiday, I also ordered a cheap rubber strap for it from AliExpress which was also waiting when I got back.

I absolutely love it!

My collection.

How are you finding the Invicta 1953? I have been pondering whether to add one of those or their least gaudy regular pro diver.

I have owned two and currently have one.

The non-sapphire glass is very tough.
I preferred the all-black bezel.

The bracelet isn’t wonderful.
NH35 movement so robust and reasonably accurate.
These don’t have the INVICTA engraving on the side of the case, which is a good thing. They retain the display caseback.

If you’re after a vintage-style diver but with modern movement and reliable gaskets then they’re worth a look. Lightly used they’re a bargain.

This seems like the place to ask as I venture out of some of my usual PH haunts in Readers Cars and Biker Banter...thanks in advance for advice.

I'm nearing the end of couch to 5k and I'm thinking about getting a sports watch. I have neither the time or the inclination to do long runs but I am thinking about getting a smartwatch for tracking and stopwatch purposes. I know I could run around using my phone, but I live just outside Glasgow and Scotland isn't known for its constantly dry climate.

Are there any decent sports smart watches at thread budget? Preferably a brand that isn't like Xiaomi or whatever that will immediately share all my details with Xi Jinping.

I take it you're not an Apple user, if so Apple watch would be my recommendation?

But if you're not, I'd look at Garmin, Fitbit or Samsung. All 3 brands will do the fitness stuff, however Samsung's are more a all-rounder, compared to the other 2.

Our whole family and friends group basically got Garmins these days, some still have an Apple watch.
Speaking for my wife and my mother, they've got a garmin because it looks like a normal watch (VivoStyle iirc).
My friends got theirs because it's just a great sports watch apparently.

Buying one for my wife I was surprised by the amount of models they have. So "just get a garmin" isn't as easy as "just get an apple watch".

I'm not an Apple person, no. Will have a look, I have a Samsung phone after all so that should be seamless enough!

Good grief.

I mean, I’m delighted you own it but equally delighted I don’t. I’m not brave or fashionable enough to rock that. Pass me a generic dive watch (although I’m wearing my Laco Fliegeruhr this week and very nice it is too!)

Great design, too big for my wrists though. I'm a fan of Spinnaker and have a Bradner, a Hull diver and a Fluess. They're all well made and were a great buy when on offer.
