It's very easy! Just like putting together an Airfix kit!
Yeah, but i would order all the wrong bits and break them attempting a ham-fisted installation.

I’m quite happy being an armchair expert. My skills lie elsewhere!
yes I'm exactly the same!!!

No doubt this has been asked here before, but any recommendations for a demagnetiser? I've had a quick look on Amazon, and there are a load of cheap blue ones that all look the same, from £10 to £20 - would one of these do?
It's what I bought, sort of works, but if I leave my Vostok Europe for a few weeks I have to demagnetise it again before wearing.

There’s something wrong with that VE, I reckon. An NH35 shouldn’t run that poorly.

Do you know anyone with a time grapher that you can stick it on?
Sadly not, I know there's definitely something wrong with it, I think I may end up putting it into a watch specialist to be looked at.

I like a second hand, because I'm an accurate to the second kind of guy, even if the bloody mechanical watch on my wrist isn't and could be miles out!
I like a second hand as I like to watch them sweep/tick/bounce/crawl round *delete as appropriate!!!

CIGA Design Michael Young on Amazon for £89 if you click the voucher code - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08HQGGV16?smid=A249QT...

Say what you want about it being Chinese made from a British designers work and it's a bit of a unique thing but a proper mechanical watch (Seagull movement) that has won the odd award for £89 is surely all the bargain!

PR Video with Mr Young chatting about it here - https://youtu.be/35mHivnm-uo

I was gifted one a year or so ago and have been very impressed with it, despite it not really being my style of watch. Assuming the one on Amazon comes in the "book" packaging it's quite a unique presentation too.

Interesting little watch that, thanks for the post, and welcome to yourself and gompo to our little corner of tinternet!!
Uses to follow your thread about your high mileage super modded Porsche, but either lost the link or you stopped posting about it as I haven't seen any for a while.

Thanks Barchettaman and RSTP; I had hoped there might be something similar from one of the more established brands that get featured here; rather than the just a random copy. I've considered a Parnis previously; I'll take a look and see what's out there.

Cheers
If you want the shape only look at the Avi-8 stuff, they do a couple that are square case with a round dial.

I saw that amazon also have the stainless steel version for £99 which is listed as coming with two straps (although reviews say many people did not get the leather strap).
The one you linked is listed as the titanium version (with one strap).
Wonder what will arrive!
I'll let you know as it's on for delivery before 10PM thanks to Jeffs insane logistics laugh

The picture shows images of the Ti version but the details on it say 316 Stainless so I guess it's a bit of a role of the dice....

It was indeed a pleasure meeting you both yesterday, a lovely chat, some fabulous watches courtesy of BrokenSkunk, and if anyone finds themselves in Southampton I think we'd highly recommend The Dancing Man brewery!!!
Keep up the postings about your job Barchettaman, as I said, I think we all live a different life vicariously through your posts!!!

Why one day?!?
You asked for it!

I think the strap I put on it cost more than the watch. Worn at least twice.
paperbag I actually like that!!
It'll need a new battery and I plan to remove the strap but I'll happily post it to you if you want it. I'll never wear it so I'd rather it went to someone that might. It is, after all, literally a classic timepiece!
That's incredibly kind of you CdeG, but i'll be honest and say i'm unlikely to wear it myself being conscious that i don't drive a Merc!! smile

I keep seeing them pictured (SD aren't exactly an unheard of newcomer) and each time I see them I like them a little more. Doesn't really fit with the vintage collection though, but it wouldn't be the only one that doesn't. Think I'm gonna resist a little longer.

Hi everyone, I'm Mike. It's been 86 days since my last watch purchase and I'm a horologoholic.

Wire haired Dachshund?
I still miss mine and she died 20 years ago.
Great choice.
Thanks. She’s 2.

I wasn’t thinking she was such a great choice yesterday morning when she ran off after a hare and was roaming the woods near our village for 5 hours. After her impromptu ‘I’m in Disneyland!’ runabout she then slept for 18 hours.

Anyway, she’s a little cracker and you’re right, they’re a great breed, it’s just we’ve managed to adopt one with a massive hunting drive. Hey ho.

Apologies for the canine-related thread drift.
