Steeldive Bronze "Sumo"

Got it two weeks ago or so and still loving it.

Edit: just looked on their website and most of their watches are over the £200 price range. Didn't know that! Also noticed how bright and shiny a new one is. Mine's tarnishing nicely. Subtle green bits coming, too. I wear it while playing tennis and it has no problems with me sprinting after a ball. Want to see if sweating on it makes it change colour faster.

That is exactly what I don't want to happen to my 50 Fathoms, I've been looking at what metal cleaner I need to keep it looking shiny!!!

I’ve used simple lemon juice on my CW bronze to bring back the shine
Ooohhh, OK, and that just lifts the tarnish?

It does… I’m sad, I like to clean parts of it and then watch it slowly return to the tarnished parts that I don’t clean…

Edited to add: you don’t need a lot of juice
rofl
Nothing sad about that, I bought a watch that is guaranteed to tarnish but really don't want it to!!!
Thanks for the tip!!

I know this is going to be a stupid question but why get a watch that is going to tarnish quickly? Why not get it in another material?
I specifically wanted a bronze watch, I knew it would tarnish and am willing to regularly clean it, I just didn't know what was best.

It certainly is for me.

@Bobberoo why did you want a bronze watch in particular?
Being an engineer and having worked with most materials I wanted something out of the ordinary, I have all stainless watches in various shades, some are gold plated, a couple rose gold, but the bronze colouring really appealed to my, I just prefer my watches to be as I bought them, so in this case untarnished.

Ebay special, £30 plus a £3ish strap (the original was too blue for me).
Meant to comment on this, great purchase at that price, I have a quartz Pulsar and love it, even the very blue strap it came with!! smile

Bought the Accurist Solar 120 last week and really like it.. smile

The two Seiko's were bought about 10 years ago and probably need a good service/clean to get them working properly...!

Nice little selection, and a good buy that Accurist, welcome to our little corner of tinternet!!

Well, the watch as it arrived came in comfortably under budget. The Staib bracelet I had knocking around needed a home. Really impressed with the watch, and the bracelet is a good match.
That's really rather lovely!!

I've built up a couple of Seiko's using parts off aliexpress and NH35 movements. Great fun and you get something that looks way more expensive than the £100 odd it costs in parts.

Wow, the green is a very tasty piece. Good skills

If you are a Liverpool fan, Tribus(Christopher Ward's new brand) has the Liverpool champions watches on 70% off.

Swiss made SW200 at them prices is a steal if you don't mind the LFC badge. laugh

I just don't understand why anybody would buy ste like that, of any club really. Or why brands produce it?

Probably to match with the club curtains/duvet/trainers/door mat etc, stuff like that is so cringe, like Porsche jackets and the like.

Liverpool fan btw, bite me wavey

I'm beginning to regret deleting my post now and should have had the courage of my convictions! I agree that most 'branded'/'loyal' stuff is pretty cringe.

BTW, one day I'll show you all my Mercedes Classic quartz watch...
Why one day?!?

You asked for it!

I think the strap I put on it cost more than the watch. Worn at least twice.
