F150 Double Din Din Din... Confused ? You Will Be.....
Discussion
I've just bought a Double Din size radio for my 2004 F150 Lightning... Great, but the damn thing doesn't fit Grrrrrr
Apparently there is a Euro Double Din size and an American Double Din size.... oh joy
Talking to some audio fitters it was like talking Double Dutch, I need an adapter apparently but they never know if the one they have will fit.
Anyone know of a supplier that can get hold of the correct adapter ??
Thanks all,
Erik

I'm fairly sure the Lightning is 1.5x DIN, not 2x DIN - I replaced my head unit at one point and there weren't too many units that would fit
Edited to add: that was a Visteon Mach MP3 head unit, worked out of the box with the L's CD changer (I believe Visteon OEM'ed the original Ford radio). I never did manage to find a 1.5x DIN unit that operated on European frequencies - even-numbered FM frequences and 9 KHz AM spacing...

You could always go for a single DIN then your choice of stereo is vast.
I got one of these for my Vette & a JVC system, looks & sounds great.
