I have a F150 4.6 1997, i started her up and the abs light stayed on, i drove for 10 mins and still on. I turned the engine off for 30 mins, then started her up and all ok, no light and has not done it for 2 days so far. Can anyone tell me what could be wrong with the abs or if it is ok. thanks

You need to get it plugged into a ford obd 2 to check out the faulty code. I think its the same engineas a Mustang so parts should be fine to get hold of in the UK.

Think you will find the ABS warning light has nothing to do with what motor is in the truck or what mustang parts may or may not fit

ABS system is tied in with the vehicle braking system, however aftermarket
code readers can sometimes not give correct information.
If you cannot get 100% results have it scanned by someone or a dealer with the correct equipment.

Usually something as simple as a wheel sensor - it was on my Golf.

The abs light only came on for 10 mins and that was a week ago, been fine since. If a sensor is faulty do they normally go slowly or do they fail stright away? How do i check to see if the sensor is working and where abouts are they? thanks

They are easily broken but it may also be fleeting dirt:
