Any tec guys in ?? I have a slight problem with my h2 Just the other day i noticed the battery light was on very very faint even wtih no keys in,once the car was started (started fine) showing good charging amps and the light came on bright as normal on start up then goes out But still shows up faint,I have had the battery tested & all is ok & even replaced the alternator but the problem is still here,The car has had a ecu check and all is ok,I 1st thought light was getting in behind the dash but this is not the case it goes out after a 30 min drive but seems to come back

many thanks in advance jason @ jrm recovery

Check all the connections to the alternator are clean first. It does sound like the diode pack on the alternator that could be suspect.

Is it a genuine alternator or a cheap rebuild??. Not uncommon to have a new duff one. Its happened to me. And even with a test done and looking ok,the diode pack was still at fault.

Im thinking the alternators going back it sounds like a supercharger! but still not sure thats the problem on the hummer forum someone has said its the starter switch & a uk company says it the clocks that have a fault
will change alternator tomorrow whe the supplier gets back to me starter switch is only £20 in the usa might change that 1st will keep you posted

I doubt its the ignition switch. When it plays up,its as though the imboliser has kicked in. As for the clocks, what tends to happen is either the speedo works eratically or doesn't work at all. The rest of the instrument pack is fine.
