I got a chance to drive the new Ford Fusion Hybird. Yes, it's a hybrid and everybody thinks they're boring. But I found this one to be an interesting drive and a very good car to boot!

Sorry but I have trouble understanding the point of a hybrid, a very complicated car that isnt that economical will have a limited life because of the batery cost and system complexity, I can understand a fuel cell car on hyrogen or pure electric if they can be charged without fossil fuel power stations , they are miles behind diesel for practicality, im sure its a blind alley or at best a marketing con and whole life CO2 is high if your a climate nut..just my 2 cents..

Surgestion for future reviews= anything with more than 6 cylinders that will stripe a parking lot, make nice nascar type noise , hint= Mustang Vette or Viper etc or pull a big trailer hint F250 c/k chevy or dodge ram which also should lay rubber in first and second gear biggrin

The economy increase is about 30-40%, which is pretty good. The power sacrifice is minimal..and sometimes is better than the non-hybrid model. It is more complex, but the battery life will be just about the same as the gas engine life. Fuel cells are not ready for public use and hydrogen is far too expensive to be practical.

Hybrids, if nothing else, prepare manufacturers for the fully-electric (or fuel cell, which is also electric) models to come.
