Usually go to one every year. Done Americana, Billing and Street Rod Nats.

My experience is that Billing is a shadow of its former-self.
Americana is ok
Street Rods are usually pretty good.

Usually like to make a night or two of it and drink heavily with mates and enjoy the sites and sounds smile Love some live music in the beer tent too.

Am thinking maybe the Mopar Euronats at Santa Pod. Seems to have the crazy beer tent and racing all day. Am I right, should it be done? Other ideas?

I'm assuming that by Street Rod Nats you mean the NASC nats at Trinity Park in Ipswich August b/h, if not this is possibly the best shows of the year wink

Yep the Ipswich one. When that show was last in Essex with Dr & The Medics on stage- this was the best show I have ever been to. All gone down hill a bit since.

Have been going to the Power Big Meet in Sweden for 12 years now, once you've been nothing in the UK hits the spot again.

Mopar Nats is buy far the best muscle car in the uk, if you like day vans with wolves painted on go to the americana (which I still go to despite the gate price) but if want to see the best 60's muscle car both been raced & show n shine then the mopars nats is a show not to be missed

have a look on youtube for MOPARS which will give you a taste of what goes on, there's always a big burnout competition, non stop drag racing and for the last couple of years a muscle car drifting competition.

There's not a burnout competition at Garys Picnic..

If you're used to static shows then get yourself to a dragrace weekend like the MOPARs to see what you've been missing....

Camping: yes (from dossing down in your car to v large motorhomes)

Beer Tent: yes (if you bring your own - cans not bottles)

Band: yes (last year was Mungo Jerry biggrin)

Fireworks: yes (just the official display - don't bring your own)

Excuse not to go: no

I agree, the Mopar Nats are great. I'll be there again this year. I'm a bit bored with the park up shows as they are all the same. You are right about the Billing show, but how about Victory Wheelers instead? Their show is at Beaulieu and is the 17/19 June and all of Beaulieu is included in the ticket price

I've been to Beaulieu a couple of years running and I thought it was worth it, although I don't have much to compare it to since I usually prefer 'all marques' classic shows. It's a nice part of the world though and the ticket price includes the motor museum. It's all static displays by the way and lots of big signs saying 'No Burnouts' IIRC.

Probably not for me then smile Have to admit I like a wide range of vehicles though which is why the Street Rod Nats were cool.
