I guess being car nuts you are aware of the brilliant Polly Trans Am. This car has taken cues from both road course and drag racing to produce a vehicle that excels on the street. It has been officially clocked at over 252mph and can out handle most contenders.

Polly at SSCC

However the owner bought it over from Norway to the US to compete in the SSCC in which average speeds of over 200pmh are archived on a twisty timed road course. Of course it won bettering the records set by Big Red.(The original Pro-touring 69 Camaro God Father).

What sets it apart from the many twin turbo V8 cars with similar power output is the precise control over power that centrifugal super chargers have over turbos when at this level....

I like the whole concept and formula. Take a £3000 80's Trans Am. Add subframe connectors, coil over shocks, low pro rubber, a 540CI BBC and a Procharger F3R. Then detune it down from 2000+hp to a endurance race friendly 1400hp....

For less than maybe £40,000 you have a super car that can compete with many multimillion pound opponents...
