I currently drive a 3 series Mercedes and a Supercharged TVR Griffith 500 and am thinking of going back to one car. Does anyone have a 300C SRT-8 in the Southampton area that i could have a look at please? My local dealer doesn't have any and i don't want to waste the time of sellers when i'm not sure yet. Any advice or help would be much appriciated. Dean

They're quite heavy and a Charger I drove (base rental 2.7V6) wasn't much cop. That said,I would envisage it would be a fun car though even muscle cars tend to be too softly sprung and I'm not sure what aftermarket stuff is available for these. I would probably sway more to a VXR8 myself dependent on prices.

Dean,

I have one and I live in Bitterne, it's modified with an engine tune so not your usual run of the mill one, you're more than welcome to come and have a look and if you like I can take you out for a run in it. Not around tomorrow but could spare some time on Sunday.

Drop me an email via the forum.

They are bloody fantastic though, stiffened suspension, Brembo brakes and they actually handle very well, given the limits of gravity! I did a performance car handling course last year and we spent some time learning limits on Kemble airfield, the SRT8 would do a 90 degree turn from a taxiway on to a runway up to 80 MPH and not bat an eyelid. Braking power is awesome comparable to the current M5.
