I am halfway through rebuilding a 4L60E, they are a bit prone to trouble and have lots of potential problems that can be ironed out during a good rebuild.
I am doing the work myself and using parts from the Us, a new torque converter is pretty essential as is all the clutch packs and a new sun cage, they crack and are prone to fail GM updated the design a few years later and you can retro fit a later part.
I have a DVD here that show strip down, assesment and rebuild.
Mine was toasted, the heat due to lack of trans cooler killed mine.

Hi - just passing through the yank section and saw my name mentioned! I sold my spare one.
Whats wrong with your current one? - they are pretty easy to fix and there's plenty of people who can help with advise.
There's one on ebay right now:

Which would be a good core for a rebuild.

there is a salvage company in essex (cut maple salvage) who have a 98 V6 in for breaking, its on ebay. They still have to box I think. I was gonna get it but found out that v6 and V8 boxes may have some different internals so didn't get it.
3/4 pack has fewer plates, but physically its the same and Input shaft is different as well (I think..)Gassing Station | Yank Motors | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
