Well I didn't think I'd be posting on this forum so soon, but hey isn't it funny how much you can miss something. About 18 months ago I part-exed my 2001 Lincoln Navigator after 3 blissfully happy years with her, and much money spent and chrome added, for a TVR Chimaera 4.0., I think boredom and an insatiable schoolboy itch was getting the better of me. Anyway I love the TVR to bits I've wanted one since being a kid, just gotta love the noise and it's a fantastic motor, and I've just blown a wad on it having new paint and interior, it's a fantastic project that I hope to be showing a lot next year , but and it is a big but, wifey has since it's departure complained that the Nav' was missed as the family vehicle and the girlies b*tch wagon when going out on the town as they loved being dropped off in it. We had another big motor for family but I sold wifeys Range Rover Autobiography earlier this year as she just wasn't using it.Curiosity got the better of me a few weeks ago and as I do when I'm tapping about on my lappy, I searched Ebay/Pistonheads/Autotrader for Navigators,I had previously been looking at Aston Martins DB9's and Bentley GT's but the house we're waiting to sell fell through , so I was told to wind my neck in and give my head a shake for the time being at least and look more for a big family car to accomodate all of the crew and dogs. So there, low and behold was my old Nav' up for sale, it still is, but looking further down the listings was the one I'd always wanted from the begining an 04/05 Black Nav with cream interior in Bauer Millets, but at the time I couldn't afford it. So in the blink of an eye I was of on a mission to secure it, and hey here we are again after a trip to the other end of the country, and a gorgeously smooth drive back, back in a Yank. I've gotta tell you, I would sooner have one of these than a Range Rover again any day, it's cheaper on insurance, cheaper on tax ,and on a good run out it's more economical, and so much smoother, and loads of extras, go figure, and best of all you don't see one of these staring back at you on every other set of lights you pull up at , the novelty value is fantastic the toys in it are great, I couldn't help adding more, DVD screens and games consoles for the kids and I've just aquired a nice set of 24"s to put on, and my boys love it, they hated me getting rid of the last one. So it's back on ebay and such for bit's too add, but not chrome, oh no not this time. I love the American car scene, I always have and am a regular attendee at many of the North west meet-ups and cruises with my fanatical petrolheaded sons, I look forward to meeting up with some of you at some point some place soon
