I went on one of those red letter day pay and play events today in a Hummer H1.It had some quite challenging stuff. Lots of mud and water troughs, and some very steep gradients. As usual the Hummer didn't fail to impress.

All the time i was there i was taunted by the staff and instructors as to if i would be mad enough to take the H2 around. So at the end of the day i asked if i could give it ago.I think they were a bit miffed,as they probably thought i wouldn't want to try it....

Been there, done that, had a smile on my face all day!

The power of those things are immense going up some of those hills. For such a large vehicle they can shift!

I liked the way that none of the instructors really liked them, they all seemed to be Landy Defender fans. One of them is apparently ex-Gulf War.

I recognised these ones straight away,as i tried to buy one about 8 years ago. They were in Black Hawk Down.I must say these were a lot cleaner than the ones i went to look at.

so Blue would you recomend it? I've got a credit going spare and I'm torn between this, mud-buggies and archery (what can I say I like trying to shoot at things!!)

Yep. It was fun for a couple of hours. Even more so,that i got to take my own around at the end of the day. The only problem i felt, was that the instructors felt as though you were complete novices. Even though i told them i had plenty of time behind the wheel of H1,s plus plenty of military machinery. They still felt the need in telling me how to drive it.

I'm guessing you were the exception, compared their usual customers..

Looks like a blast... Don't worry. Even instructors can be prone to the "I know everything about driving and everybody else is a newbie" syndrome.
