Has anybody ever attempted to strip down 2010 Camaro...?
Discussion
I'm probably going to buy a pre-owned 2010 Camaro to build a street/race weekend toy out of it, starting from lightening the whole car as much as possible...I've got already a good experience at lightening my C3 (down to 1.260 kgs which is not a bad result at all...) so I know well it's not cheap nor easy, I just wanted to know if somebody had already gone this path with a late model Camaro and to have comments and advices about his experience.
Thanks.
Thanks.

No but the Mustang is massively lighter to start with. Why start with lard when you can start with Olivio?
Because I like the Camaro and the Chevy engines better....Don't fret though, only 3 years to an all-new Mustang even if this 5.0 is already too good for the Camaro (if only if Ford hadn't detroyed the looks).

Really funny you put that video up, as I stumbled on a few weeks back looking for old Camaro racing footage, as Robin Gray, who now runs Autopontiac was in that race with his V8 Escort... Your commentator....Murray Walker.....

Having seen all 3 almost next to each other the challenger does look a lot bigger.
It's also a heavy car. I think it's about 1840 kg. And yes it's slower then the other two, for now. 2011 challengers get a 6.4 hemi motor 480hp which should be interesting. I just wish Chrysler would bring back Plymouth and do us all a big favor. OP- keep us updated please on the lightweight camaro
Would love to see this done

For carbon fibre and fibreglass parts they guys over at Camaro5.com have sussed it all from handling to looks.
For power I think the Procharger is the cheapest way to go. They will also help you to make it hook. If your looking to the 9's at full weight check out these two videos below.

The LMR car runs the Procharger F1R. This could also be done with the F1D if the car was lighter...The LMR turbo car may make as much power but hasn't shown as promising track times...(spooling issues or unusable boost curve).
