Hi Guys, I am looking at buying a Dodge Ram quad cab. Can anyone check its history in the USA? The VIN is 1D3HA18P77J531618.

I have carried out an HPI check here in the UK and it was registered two months ago and has a clean bill of health this side of the pond.

Also HPI here have it as a 4WD, how can I check this?

Thanks in advance

It's a 4x2 4.7. It'd better be very reasonably priced.

Car history reports here are not free.
I can tell you it's a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT/ST Quad cab 4 door 2WD with 4.7L V8 Magnum engine with Flex Fuel System.

The vehicle seems to be on no theft register or total lose register. I cannot tell you if it has had all recall work done.

US retail for a truck like that is less than $20k

Why do you say that? Has it got bad history in the USA?

Thanks for the info, as long as the truck has no previous damage it will be perfect for what I need!

I don't wanna scare ya off, but 99% of people here don't hold much stock in vehicle history reports. Carfax are the main one and they have errors and omissions all over the place.
Everyone here who is looking to buy a vehicle generally gets an independent garage to do a PPI. If I was you I'd do the same, if it's sound then good luck, they are a good work horse, used to have one myself.

Why do you say that?
It'll feel woefully underpowered and is not as desirable as either a 4x4 or 5.7

I wouldnt say that.Ive had a 4.7 and it was streets ahead in performance over my old 5.9.It was also a lot better on the old m.p.g.

^^^ True.

However, compared to a 5.7 they do feel a lot slower.

As I said though, if it's priced right it's not a problem.

To be honest i didnt think the 5.7 was a great leap over a 4.7. OK maybe on the open road. But around town the difference is marginal. Still managed to get 120mph out of a 4.7 It was near its limit.I decided that i didn't want to push it that bit further as braking in that(It was the 4x4)at that speed for what ever reason would have probably seen the end of me.

So a 4.7, 4X2, single cab should be difficult to sell. Plays nicely into my hands when it comes time to get rid of my car. smile
