Guys, there's a few parts I want to buy for my Camaro, but what's making me hesitate at the moment is the shipping charges I'm seeing. I usually use Rock Auto for stock replacements parts and service stuff, but this time I'm after poly motor mounts, UMI or BMR tubular subframe connectors and a UMI or BMR strut tower brace and they don't do them.

So far I've looked at Summit and Byunspeed. Summit carry all those parts and the purchase price is pretty competitive, but the shipping works out to almost the same again if I choose FedEx or DHL. There is a cheaper USPS option, but that one doesn't provide tracking info. Byunspeed are slightly cheaper on the parts themselves, but you don't know the shipping charge until they take it from your card and ship the items....so a bit risky.

Any suggestions on other suppliers to look at?

USPS has products that allow you to track your shipment - just like UPS/FedEx/DHL.

Yeah I'm assuming the precise product that Summit are using doesn't, as it has a note against it saying "Limited Package Tracking Available."

This company ships to the UK but you have to email for a quote. I'd quite like an STB and some subframe connectors (and I will if I ever have any spare money!) Let me know what they quote if you do ask!

Thanks for the suggestion mate. That's the manufacturer themselves selling via Ebay, though you can also order directly from their website and they do provide shipping estimates if you do it that way. The cheapest option they offer is, again, USPS Priority Mail International, which comes out at $153.90 for my SFC's and STB.

I tried adding the same parts for your car to my basket and was surprised when the quote more than doubled to $435.90! I can only assume that the SFC's and STB's for the 3rd gen cars must be significantly larger/heavier than those for the 4th gen cars. Your shipping, if ordered alone, comes to $313.90.

Balls frown Thanks for the info though, I guess I'll be saving for a bit longer although I'm not sure I am stomach spending that much on shipping alone!

Retailers like UPS as they collect and I believe they have to take USPS parcels to the depot. Some will send USPS if you ask.

If it's any help, Rocky in Watford fabricates and fits SFC for all generations of F-Bodies. Imports stuff too.

Top chap and highly recommend his work.

Thanks, I'd never come across these guys before. Will probably give them a call tomorrow and see what they can offer.

I've never had a problem shipping car parts from the US using USPS. I'd recommend them unless you're in a hurry.
