Hey guys my truck seems to judder real bad just before it changes
down from overdrive.
Seems smooth rest of the time so i dont think its missfiring.
Just seems to do it when crusing in top,and then when you dip the
throttle it then judders, goes right through the whole floor, you can
feel it through the throttle pedal, then it changes down.
Ihave no engine check lights or codes set.
I have checked the trans fluid which seems ok.
cheers guys for any help.

mine used to do it slightly & was told it was normal but you could only JUST detect it, have you tried Danny at Adrenalin? I expect he'd be able to put his finger on it straight away, say you found him on Rebelv8.com if you dont already know him. good luck!

edited to add: at a guess it sounds like the change in torque direction thats doing it, what about prop shaft bearings and UJ? as your feeling it through nearly every part of truck, no mechanic so probably waaaay off.

Hi David,

There are a lot of Uk lightning owners on www.rebel-v8.com with a few who race them so there is a lot of knowledge there too.
If you go to Rebel, hit up Adam or Ricki to name a couple of 'non-members'

BTW lovely garage you have there. Great taste in motors...;)

Your welcome to bring it round my place and I will give it a quick scan.
Must be something simple, fueling, sensor or somat similiar.

If we get it cured you can take ne out for a spin in the lambo

David,

Ricki is a non member of Rebel-V8 and owns/runs the fastest street Lightning in the UK. So he is very well versed in all things truck like and should be able to help.(and a bloody nice bloke too)

Ohhhh just dont let him introduce you to Jim D'Amore from JDM.....it'll cost you wink

Now I realise what you do for a living so you wont have a problem

At least it won't bite you.

Sorry just remembered we also had to replace the gearbox tailshaft. If you have a moment phone my mechanic mate Brian Hill on 07885 213380. He looks after all my stuff and is very very knowledgeable on all things motor related but he is also into his american stuff with many many friends at main dealers in the USA. What he don't know he can soon find out about. He's based in Waltham Abbey, Essex. Let me know how you get on. He can be difficult to get hold of at times. If so PM me your number and I'll ask him to phone you.

Hey thanks for your time mate, bogged down with work at the mo
but will look into it.
I got a pulley upgrade kit in florida last aug, which includes a preditor
programer.
This also has data loging/scanning so will give that a go at the weekend.
The kit comes with new plugs, coils, throttle body, thermostat.
All still in there boxes, maybe time to do the thing for sake biggrin
I reckon it might be spark related.
cheers Dave.

So took half the engine apart to get to the plugs and coils.
Boy do you need small hands at the back.
Anyways accel coils and ngk tr6 plugs fitted.
I was tempted to keep going and do the pulleys etc,but thought it
wise to get the thing running right before that.
Ok $hit or bust, fired up and sweet as a nut.
Runs real smooth and no sign of any juddering.
Thanks for all the help guys.
SVT RICK CHEERS FOR THE OFFER MATE.
Thought i should pull my finger out and not bother people biggrinbiggrin
Yeah i can give you a freebe spin in the italian thingy.
I`m a happy trucker.

Sorry mate been busy myself - work and stuff.
Coil packs can be an issue, last truck I did for someone found one of the
coil packs had split, swapped out and ran smooth.
You did the right thing fix the problem before doing the mods.
Make sure you dyno the truck once the mods are done to check all is ok and the a/f ratio is good esp when into boost.

Bring the truck to Shakespheare County Raceway this comming weekend.
Would be good to see you.
