Was it this one at Spurr Classics? I saw that, must be two years ago now, when my mate was looking for a Vette. I think it's the same car in which case I'd be worried about how much needed sorting on it.

There was a blue one (not IROC) on Ebay that ended this morning, fitted with a 6L Pontiac engine. It went for £800 in the end as it needed the interior sorting and was a bit tatty. My mouse pointer was hovering on the "bid now" button but I chickened out
I've seen the white one. Looks OK, but I'm still hoping for an IROC. In fact, your old one would be spot one

If it's just the harmonic balancer (big, weighty, pulley in essance) makes you wonder why a dealer wouldn't sort themselves as it's a quick job (about £200+ for the balancer though). But it's the now popular in the classic world phrase - needs recommisioning, that puts me off. This could just mean bit grubby, worm bushes to the 'oh the rotted sills and suspension points need "re-commisioning"http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1256066.htm

Not cheap enough by far for a non runner.

Exactly my thoughts. If it's such an easy fix, they'd have done it and have the car up for £3,500. Maybe an easy fix for someone, but I really need a car I can jump straight in to. Also, as you say, how long has it been off the road for, and what else needs doing. Not cheap enough by far for a non runner.
Spurr Classics aren't that far from me, so I still may go and take a look.
Ok, so its not 3k but I keep looking at this - used to have a red one just like it.....anyway, surely budgets like rules are made meant to be broken

Funny isn't it - once you have had an american V8 it is very difficult to live without one. Was going to take a couple of years out myself having got rid of the Roush.....but was looking for a replacement before the Roush had even sold

The RS was the base model and only had 170hp from the 5.0 LO3 single point injection engine and lesser suspension than the Z28. A friend had one and it drove more like a saloon car.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2010...

Just noticed it, seemed good value and in ok condition. Shame about the performance, but bet it would still sound nice through the Cardiff tunnels - may look elsewhere for a cheap left-field V8 weekend car though.
Seems abit overpriced compared to similar on ebay. You get the idea they put it as a 5.7 z28 to get attention when really its a base model.
Lie advertising your bodykitted 318 as an M3.
Got the new edition of American Classic magazine from the newsagent today. I thin people advetising in there have been smoking some strong stuff. All the Camaros seem about £2K overpriced.
Ironically the old edition was still on the shelf. Have a guess how many of them were in the last edition at the same price. Basically all of them. Because they are all over priced. When they are in good condition at the right price they go quickly. Too many seem to be suffering from summer fever. I might wait till winter and watch them squirm when they need rid and no one will buy at even half what they are asking.

Just because they are in the old and new magazine doesnt mean they havent sold. About time prices on these started increasing and we see less dogs about...Lie advertising your bodykitted 318 as an M3.

All these cars drop to a rock bottom point then go up again. It is the way. The first 3rd gens are now 26 years old and the newest 18 years old. Try finding an old Ford with a decent engine for the price. I find most owners often adverise to see if there's a buyer and aren't bothered if they sell or not and selling in winter isn't that popular.
I would never sell my 3rd gen. Z28 for less than 5k... I don't care if someone think it's overpriced, if you want it than pay up, if you don't, then I will keep it because it's AWESOME!!!!!
Every car is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it... so I don't understand that "overpriced" business.

Spot on, I paid over the odds for my Z28 but when I saw what good condition it was in, I had to have it. I wanted a late model 5.7 and that was the only one for sale in the country and I was driving it home. I do think that there is a lot of tat out there which people may ask too much for, but if it's a good un' then it's worth what someone will pay.
