So I lurk around the different threads. The viper guys or owners group is doing a lunch on the 21st of March in Luton. Why the hell isn't there stuff organized like that for other yank car owners? (mustang/cobra, vette, camaro, etc.) or is there a lunch/dinner meeting near me (within and hour of Silverstone) ?

Mustang owners from different areas meet up monthly for lunch, there are also other american owners clubs who meet up frequently.

I've replied to your other thread but, yeah, we meet monthly (3rd Saturday) near Newbury, Berkshire.
Here are the photos from yesterday's meet. The previous month, we had over 25 cars smile

I think the Milton Keynes & Beds American car club meet at the Caldecotte Arms in MK on the first Sunday of the month. There are also regular AACUK/AACINT meetings in Northampton.

Imagine this is the bloke-with-adenoids voice that Clarkson uses occasionally:

"Ooh, that's the wrong doorcards for that model year, are they not?"

"Not a fan of 17" wheels on muscle cars myself"

"I see you've cut the dashboard to fit that stereo. Pity."

All normally from some chap in a FWD Chevy Cavalier dressed like a Nascar advert

would be good to get some meets going, to be honest thought, even though camaros are far superior to stangs smile (joking haha) there are definitely not as many about. Especially 4th gens vs the same era stangs that everyone knows about. Its even worse up here, im in Yorkshire, and seriously I have seen 4 other 4th gens in 3 years ??? SO if there are any northerners up for a 4th gen or even camaro/firebird meet im in. Also, I have been to the Leeds yank meet, but people seem to be grouped and stuff already, and I seem a bit of an outsider sometimes as i'm only 23 and probably look like its daddy's car and i know nothing about it.

the hardest part is picking a place to meet to everyones liking due to distance having to travel. And i don't care if its mustang, camaro, vette, cobra etc. i thnk it will be better being a bit of everything. also weather is an issue...

Luke,

You're always welcome over at the Hull meet, which is definitely not as cliquey as Leeds can be or hang out with our lot when we're going over to Leeds. Our Camaro is off the road at the mo so we're in the Mrs' Harley F150 but it'll be back soon. Get yourself joined up at YorksYanks.co.uk cos there's a lot going on at the moment.

Still not found an alarm or any wiring btw, so I'm gonna start work soon and worry about being immobilised later!

I personally prefer a good drive rather than just a static meet. I'm happy to organise a run in SE / London (ish) area and maybe end somewhere where we can sit and chat.. Always better to drive the cars, rather than look at em' me thinks..

I'm not really a 'park the car in a field and walk around' kind of guy, so I don't really do many of the yank shows or meets (too many middle aged brummies with pony tails in cowboy boots - apologies if you are a cowboy boot wearing brummie)

The Luton Lunch is the first event of the year.Just a meet up food and chat. I did one about 8yrs ago and it went on from there..

Some meet up and travel in convoy so there is driving involved as well.

There are not many vipers in the UK and less members so we tend to get a good turn out.
Some come from as far away as Devon/cornwall to Birmingham and Ireland.....
Mixed events are always good so your not just looking at the same car different colour.

We have regular meets at Santapod & Shakesphere County Raceway
Garys Picnic at the end of May is a good event.

Why not rock up and see how your Ponies fair against some other Ford Muscle
Motors we could arrange a shoot out for the quickest on the 1/4 mile.
There again you might find out how slow your car is.

My car is extra slow since i got to the UK. Santa Pod broke my IRS and i am having a look at it this Tuesday. Hopefully i'll be back in good health in few short weeks.

how much would it cost for a private track rental at the Pod if we get a decent crowd with a lot of fast cars?
