whats this corvette stingray worth and anyone know it?
Discussion
It's worth what anyone is willing to pay and that's always a subjective valuation. The C3 used to be relatively common and dynamically, it won't set the world on fire and they don't make that much power in standard form - '73 was the beginning of the smog era. They are increasingly rare and Corvette bodywork has to be restored properly so you don't get air under the paint. Essentially it's the price of the restoration and a donor car I suppose.
You have to look at what you can buy for £30k and compare it to get a true picture of it's worth. It will never be a Ferrari or as easy to sell. I'm not sure I'd pay £30k for a C3 but then I don't want one so that's of no help to you. If it was truly pristine though, who knows. You could always ring Corvette Kingdom and ask for a reasonable valuation. He's a nice guy.
Have a look at US values by way of comparison but bear in mind they tend not to be worth as much in the UK as they are in the US in general:

(not forgetting the obligatory shipping, 10% import duty and 17.5% VAT on the lot).

I'm no Corvette expert, but is a 73' supposed to have a plastic front and chrome rear bumpers.???
yes this was the start of fed laws & there 'no signs of damage @ a 5mph impact' hence the plastic front end, plastic rear end came in 75 (I think)No matter how nice this car is, unfortunatly it aint worth anything remotely like whats he asking for it, yes the cars low milage & is probably a 9/10 car but it not a special model or of any historical importance, just think he fell into 'well ill have to keep spending now thats it cost £'s more than I thought but it almost there' & then 'but now its done it got to worth near what ive got in it'
I sold my very nice & origanl 76 which had £1000's spent & mega paint for only £7k !
I might be cruel but think he'd struggle to get ovet £12k but that only my view & best of luck to him

Yes. The plastic rear-sloping butt came in '74.(the chrome bumpers pre 72' ones do look a bit nicer though IMO.. ... )
