I'm like a bad rash, I turn up everywhere.

I've posted in several other places on this site: my name's Jerry Ibbotson and I run a company that produces sound for video games. We're working on a project where we need to record a wide range of cars and one I'm after is an American V6, of the kind found in a Chevy Blazer SUV or similar. We're recording one Weds/Thurs of this week and again the week after. Can anyone help?

Cheers!

Explorer? Ford sold them here and there's often one in the supermarket car park if you want to ask the driver to stick your mike up their tubes

It would be good to get something a little "gruffer" sounding. It doesn't have to be an actual SUV, just something with a V6 that has plenty of character. Usual drill: expenses money, MP3s and even a power reading of the car!

Jerry...

We've not got any at YorkYanks (well we have a couple but they're both v8's), but you might want to try looking for a V6 Chevy Astro day van. That should give you something like the right sound. There's an owners club at http://www.astrosafari.co.uk/
