I have been speaking to a GM over the past couple of months about the new Camaro. I understand that there were plans to bring the car over to the UK in RHD form but GM does not want to give any details out. They told me they would contact me on the progress (no idea what that means!)

Any ideas if they are coming to the UK in RHD form?
What is better, the 3.6 or the 6.2 in terms of performance and driving enjoyment?

On another note, I know there are a few Yank owners in and around Buckinghamshire, why not come and join in on the pistonheads run?

The 6.2 is very nice but in terms of on road performance is there that much difference?
What is the difference in 0-60, 0-100?
Also, how would the 3.6 compare to a car like the new Audi S4 3.0 V6?

A quick bit of surfing on the US foeums should yield the performance figures for the V6, but if you were to buy one it'd have to be the 6.2

Thanks for that biggrin vut why do they have to have the crap "rock" musak playing , you cant hear the cars frown

Love the look of this car and it would have to be the 6lt just for the sound even if there seems not a great deal between it and the V6

I also seriously doubt any RHD version will make its way to the UK at a time when car manufacturers are trying to reduce the average C)2 across their ranges and with swingeing VEL that imports don't have to worry about.

Yes GM are going to bring the Camaro over in RHD. Engines still unsure but if they sell the 6.2 in a VXR Vauxhall than I am sure they will sell it over here!

Sorry but the picture is a whole lot more confused than that. A quick read of this article starts optimistically then slides further and further down into highly unlikely.

Needless to say, a company in Australia has decided not to wait and is converting their own.

What is disappointing about this article is that they see a RHD Camaro as a niche vehicle for which you will pay dearly compared to importing your own LHD version. That's OK in Australia where a RHD Mustang will set you back about $Aus 125,000 but it will never sell here because RHD depreciates far more once they're in the mainstream.

trouble is you'll never be able be able to drive a new LHD mustang or camaro in oz, thats why companies are converting them, they would both be pretty low volume sales in oz, so i cant see the yanks converting them for the aussie market, hence no RHD for england as your allowed to drive LHD cars, both would be and are clobbered for import tax, they might even end up more expensive as offical imports in oz

consider that and local competition, V8 commodores/falcs already exist, i dont see a very big market in oz, sure they'll sell some cause they're different.

if theyre not converting them for the english market and can pick up the aussie/NZ as a bonus, your pretty much screwed imao, there was a rumor that the next mustang would be a global one, who knows, im guessing they'd sell more mustangs than camaro's in both countries

From Jalopnik:

"Are the Muscle Car Wars going intercontinental? Who knows. What we do know from folks in the room when Lutz made this comment, is that the Holden PR person there looked wide-eyed and was shaking his head as if to say "what the hell have you signed us up for, Bob?"

At the moment they are still selling record numbers of Camaros in the US, and next year brings the convertible which they'll be able to sell as many as they can make. That leaves 2012 model year and I'd be very surprised if that does not bring us a Z28 with supercharged version of CTS-V/ZR-1 engine, which again, they'll have no trouble selling all they can make. I have an SS and will be ready for the Z28 just as soon as they'll take my money.

If they bother with europe they'll start in LHD drive markets. Why would they bother with RHD?

I'd say go for the V8 yes You'll just wish you had done if you didn't!!

They are planning on bringing the Camaro to the UK in RHD? laugh I'd still buy a LHD import it is going to be cheaper to buy and tax, and will hold it's value better if you ever sell it.
