I apologise if someone has already posted this but I got this from the Mustang forum. Just thought the more people that know the better.

We have just found out that there is a Proposal going through Brussels in March this year to have a new Harmonised Individual Vehicle Approval, if this is passed then NO American cars currently being registered through the existing IVA Approval can be registered in the Member States, only those over 6 months old. This would include all Mustangs either through dealers like ourselves or if you bring them in yourself...If this Bill is passed then we would have circa 12 months to comply. Various letters have been flying backwards and forwards to the European Commission from Anthony Cohen who is Chairman of the American Import Agent Association but we need the help of all Mustang owners, Enthusiasts etc to lobby thir local MEP. I have spoken to Richard at American Car world and Ben at Classic American who were not aware of this proposal but are now on the case.. I will ask Mark Hayden to put some links on so you can see all the paperwork, contacts etc..
It is generally believed that if this goes through it is just the tip of the iceberg and could affect all American cars coming over in the future, new, used and classics..
