Need to get some new boots on the front but the ones on it are 245/55/r16? Is that the right size? the tyre place is saying i could put 225 on the front as the others are hard to get & expensive? is that ok ?

Not sure what size rim a 93 has, but my 99 has 245/50R16's.

Personally I think a 225 is WAY too narrow for such a car.

Try these: MARSHAL MATRAC KU17 TX 97W

From: Valuetyres.co.uk

They are about £86 each inc fitting.

Get thre best tyres you can afford in the right 245 width.. Remember it's the only thing keeping the car in contact with the road....

The Marshall's are cheaper than the factory fitted Goodyears. They are so a much better tyre too dry or wet and look nicer. Expensive does not always mean the best.

16s are being ditched my many as wheels get bigger. Toyo do one in that size but personally I'd drop to a 245/50 x 16 where you have a choice of:

MARSHAL 245/50ZR16.97W MATRAC KU17 TX From £75.90
NEXEN 245/50R16 97V CP641 From £40.83
NANKANG 245/50R16 97V EX500 From £48.88
KUMHO 245/50R16 97W KU31 From £72.39

I can recommend the Kumho which has long been the tyre of choice for most American cars. The nankang I can't find any bad reviews for so it would seem a very sensible buy and at that price, even if it proved not brilliant, you can afford to smoke them....

Prices are from www.tyretraders.co uk but obviously available elsewhere.
