You can buy generic OBD II code readers on the internet for about £30. then once you have your code, punch it into google and you should find it. It's a check engine light and often comes on due to overdue replacement of oxygen sensors or a duff electronic ECU unit.

Okay thanks, i read that a 93 could use 16 pin obd 11 type connector but actually use obd1 diagnostic system, if so they say i would need a scan tool that uses a specilized connector!!
I would rather just take it some where.. shame as car seems to be running spot on at the moment, ha ha, the slight misfire it has seems to have stopped as the light came on???? I have been trying to find somewhere to tune but not having any luck, people just laugh when i say what car, they like doing golf's round here.

Yes the '93 is OBD1 which means there isn't a scanning tool but rather a lead and software which you have to load on your laptop and connect the two up. Still going to be cheaper than a plug-in diagnostic for which garages will charge you at least £50. I paid £70 for one at a Chevy dealer in 2001!

I got a hotcam kit tune for mine from fastchips in the US, the guy runs 10 seconds in his LT1 and has a good reputation.
The 93 has a physical chip you need to replace in the ECU under the windscreen.
He will tell you what rwhp numbers to expect.

If you check a website like rockauto.com there's a tool you can plug into the diagnostic port that allows you to read the codes yourself. If I recall said tool is $10 or so and looks something like a fork, you then watch the number of flashes from the warning light and that's how you decipher the codes, much like an OBD1 BMW.

Yeah I think 95 was obdii. The 4th gen went through a load of changes over its model years.
