I was wondering how they were for parts availibility, insurance, running costs etc. Also if i was going for one I think I would need it converted to LPG due to the size of the engine!!
Is yours still petrol or is it LPG?
I am in Newcastle upon tyne
Cheers

for parts head over to the viper forum and look up the viperwizard aka Chuck Tator. He is in south salem NY but he will get you dodge parts quicker than you would imagine possible.

In fact you may as well head over to the viper forum anyway as there are a few Ram owners in there also, and we are quite welcoming of Ram owners especially SRT10 ones, after all they have the same heart.

mine is 6 speed manual
insuance is cheap im 28 and its cheaper than my mondeo tdci by 200 pound a year

please dont take this the wrong way but ... why put lpg on a viper engine ? i get 8-12 mpg
so why not buy a hemi and get decent mpg

only probs are stock clutch is rubbish, thats it really . few little niggles like upgarde stock shifter to b+m one to sort the 2nd to 3rd shift, oil cooler lines leek . easy to sort ..
also think some 04 05 had a recall cause of pulley bolt coming loose . and stock brake pads are dusty squeeky replace with ebc or low friction pads ,

you after a rc or qc ?
oh and red is the fastest coulour lol

I did look at hemis, but if I bought one I would alway be wanting an SRT!
I suppose when you look at the cost of the conversion approx 2.5k-3k I would need to keep the truck a very long time to get that back. Scott, do you use yours every day? I work 8mile from work so not too far. The RS6 I have at the moment likes a drink and I do get sick of putting petrol in !!

love the rs6 nice motor
you will be sick at fueling the srt 10 up mate but it gives you the biggest smile when you get in something that big should not move that quick,
mine is for summer and shows cheap tax too around 190 for year , i have had it 4 years and put 12 ,000 miles in it , you after single cab or quad cab ?

2 kids so would be after the quad cab, there was a nice one on PH for 17k, he had lowered it and changed a few things. It is sold now.
I think I would prefer a black one although red does look good. Do you think these can be run everyday? I was thinking about buying it through work and using it as a company vehicle so should be able to claim a bit back. There was a nice single cab one on AT last week for 15k. The prices are very attractive obviously due to the fact not many people want an 8.3!!

I know its not a SRT but my F150 HD has the Saleen supercharger on it and I am running it as a daily through work.
Averaging about 18-19mpg (mpg on dash says 14-15 but thats US gallons)...0-60 in under 5 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 14 secs and dropping.
Not sure how that compares with an SRT as there hasnt been one at any of the drag meets the Rebel V8 gang have been to but the 5.4 supercharged truck certainly upsets many drivers of cars such as Porsche, Scoobies etc from the lights....LOL

Get a truck, you wont regret it and you wont lose the grin either....LOL

A guy near me has a 5.7 Hemi version and gets 9-11mpg. I once considered an SRT10 but that put me off slightly but in the end, it just wouldn't fit in my work parking space (and I hate to think what the green lobby would think of it)

Yeh, I spoke to a guy with a 5.7 hemi and he said he only gets 8-12mpg which I thought was poor. I suppose the viper doesn't struggle on the hills!!

Perhaps your Hemi drivers are forgetting that the computer mpg read out in the vehicle is for the US gallon, to compare it to the UK/imperial gallon you would increase the figures by 20%. i.e your 9-11 becomes 10.8 - 13.2 and your 8-12 becomes 9.6 to 14.4. On a new 2009 Hemi with cylinder deactivation the mpg figures are urban 16 and highway 22, so, no worse than many other large suv's with a V8 e.g Range Rover, Mercedes GL etc.

No, these were definitely UK mpg, I don't think the Dodge has a mpg readout, more a screamometer.....

If so then I'd have suspect somethng wrong with your friends vehicle, we move some 50-60 Rams per year, not one of our customers has reported such low mpg figures.

Would be nice to see some of these SRT10's run the 1/4 mile.
RWYB at Santapod on 19th September anyone ?

Come and join the Rebel-V8 Trucks for some 1/4 mile showdown.
