cam + emissions issues on an LS1
Discussion
Figured you guys might be a font of knowledge for this. Currently looking at sticking either a 220/224 or q 222/224 compCam in the Monaro. Car has an LS1 block with long tubes and high flow cats. Should be able to sort lambda out via efilive but at that profile will i be looking at issues at the 3000rpm test? I believe they check CO2 and something else at this speed?

what he said! I'm already talking to Richard, Pete from KRS and Roger at Monkfish but I'm after feedback from those on here that might already have done the job - specifically around the fast emissions test. I dare say for imports its not so much of an issue but unfortunately the Monaro was an official car so is on the vosa database stigmundfreud said:

Emissions are a bit odd ball. Many cars in the US fail with a cam, but that's because they check for different things compared to the UK MOT.My advice would be to run some high flow cats (good ones will hardly affect performance on a 550bhp motor).
I'd also look at a bigger cam. The ones you are looking at are still pretty small and it's almost not worth swapping one in (IMO).
This is the cam I'd go for: http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=66...
It's a really good street cam and will makes loads of power.
If you want to spend a little more, then the CNC heads match up well with them. The guys at TSP are very helpful and will ship to the UK
