SVA Becomes IVA
Discussion
On the 29th April 2009 the SVA test as we know it will disappear to be replaced by the 'IVA' test.
It seems that the test will change and all of the paperwork, brochures, posters etc will have to be reprinted on a directive from the EU. Fees will also undoubtedly increase again from the £190 they have not long been increased to.
The requirements of the test itself will change, and items that have previously been acceptable on the SVA will no longer pass the IVA.
To view a draft of the regulations, go to http://www.transportoffice.gov.uk/IVA-manuals
I spoke to a 'friendly' tester today, and it seems they are already starting to implement a few of the changes. On the car I had in there were a few "That won't pass the IVA"s being bandied about.
Be forewarned!
