There are quite a few of us on www.Rebel-V8.com

This is my 2nd Lightning, I have fitted this one with a JDM Built GT Block & Whipple Supercharger. BTS Transmission,True Track rear with Metco Links

Runs 11.07 (best) sec 1/4 mile times.
Now preparing to Dyno in October and looking for 680 RWHP on C16 race gas
A mid 10 sec pass should be forcoming.

Street Tune on lower boost setting running super unleaded nets around 540 RWHP
Steering has been converted to Rack & Pinion with big brake upgrade planned.

Yes it lifts the fronts off the track at launch

good choice. I'm on my third one. My business partner and I both run black 04 lightning's as daily drivers. Aside from both having had the big brembo 380mm disc conversion done they are standard. Be warned they need modifying to fit within the standard 18" wheels. Neither of us would swap for anything else for daily use. My ex 04 grey one lives near romford.

Well they are certain to catch out many other drivers.
There quick and the width and tyre size give them pretty good handling for a
two ton plus truck.

Try driving one with 500 RWHP the fun starts then when you take supercars all the way to 150mph and they cannot pass you, many a ime a driver has said WTF you got under the hood.
Consistant 11 sec 1/4 mile passes is fun too with well over 620 RWHP on race gas and 20lbs boost.

We must get together for another SVT meet at Santapod or Shakey

A meet would be good. I'm happy with the 380bhp. We both pile on the miles, so reasonable mpg and reliability are the key issues. I've run one now for five years and other than routine servicing they cost very little to run. I've never driven anything else that allows you to burble along at very sensible speed, very relaxed or blow the doors of a subaru if you fancy. What we both like is that you don't feel the need to do that all the time. I guess that's why we both still have our driving licences.

Nice one on the License.

I drive as part of my business anything from a 2 ton 4x4 off road to a 32 ton tanker... and kept it clean.
The 'L' just gives you the chance to let go and have fun on the road and the 1/4, would still like an original 03 stock one though.
Great fun to drive but even better in the States.

Well I think the wet weather will finish off most RWYB events now.
However we (Rebel V8 Truck Racers) hope to attend quite a few events next season at Santapod and Avonpark (Shakey

Will post up our events next season.

In many ways the lightning is just like a 911. Use the power and weight transfer to get the rear to grip. Not such an exact practise in the wet though wink
