Is there any point in getting my LT1 camaro onto a rolling road? Can anything be mapped/adjusted etc easily?
All the cars I've roading roaded in the past have seen a bhp gain, but they all had carbs. Is there actually anything that can be re-mapped etc on the LT1? Its a 97 LT1 z28 SS.
Can anybody recommend anyway near surrey? these guy? http://www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk/
cheers,
Jimbo

I'm pretty sure that the LT1's can be tuned in much the same way as the LS1's, as they both employ the OBDDII diagnostic system and software such as LT1 Edit is available to read from and write to the PCM.
As to http://www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk/ I'm not sure whether they would have the necessary expertise and/or software to work on LT1's/LS1's. I found their website when I was looking around but to me it didn't appear they had any experience with our engines....could be worth phoning them though. RapidGB on the other hand clearly do have experience of GM V8's...even though it will be further for me to travel (up by Santa Pod I think)

93 Model used EPROM's so its a new chip required. Also bus protocol was ALDL not VPW like the later stuff (or CAN)
Also most were OBD-I not OBD-II which arrived in later years.
93 is also speed density only and has no MAF. 94+ used MAF and Flashram so no chip swap required.
I had a 93 and got Ed Wright from Chip http://www.fastchip.com/ to go with my GM Hotcam.
Stock unless you have K&N FPIK and exhaust etc, I wouldnt bother. But cam swap etc, then definately get it tuned.
Mine did high 12 sec with cam and bolt on's
BTW the K&N FPIK made for a good increase in power on mine.
